Nutty Nutt nut

November 28, 2007

So, I got up at 4:30 yesterday morning and the first thing the news was yacking about Nutt is resigning. Big shock with how the fans treated him. To be honest I think that it is embarrasing to have fans boo our own team, and have signs and shirts attacking the coach. Then when we win against the number one team, he becomes the greatest thing that ever stepped foot on Arkansas soil.

I used to like Nutt but, (hee-hee), the coaching was suffering and I think that he had his head somewhere else, (Ole Miss) while he was coaching anyway. He will be getting a raise at ole Miss but it is only reported at 1.9 million a year. How will he ever live on such a small salary? Maybe we should have a fund raiser for the guy. He only got 3.5 million buying out his contract. Jimmy Sexton from Memphis is Nutt’s evil genius agent and negotiated both deals, just in case you need an agent.

Next year is going to suck even more, unless we can get some great recruits. Hillis and Monk are seniors, and Jones and D-Mac will be drafting, that leaves us with Fish. OH MAN, we are sunk.

wha’ Happened, Tigger?

November 26, 2007

Okay I am back. Thank you to the ones that continued to check the site though I haven’t updated in years, or so it seems. The Hogs won against the mighty, mighty Tiggers, knocking them out and possibly taking all of the SEC with it. This was payback to what LSU did to us last year, we can’t help it if we took others down with us. I half heartedly believe that Oklahoma should be ranked higher then 9th. Missouri will play W. Virginia and lose knocking them down a little more.

Arkansas needed the win, but LSU needed this win also so what to do what to do? We had to win, if it means messing something up then you can bet we will do it, that is how I knew we would win. Isn’t it funny how a game can change peoples views? When Arkansas won, during the interviews with the fans, they said that Nutt could do no wrong and actually hopes he stays. Now let’s not get carried away. I am glad that they are being positive and I used to like Nutt, but his coaching has slipped and he plays favorites. I would say that he doesn’t stand behind his deals but I don’t think many college coaches stand behind their recruiting promises. It was a crazy back and forth game with 3ot with the interception at the end of the game Nee-Nee and I Hogged up, edge of your seat madness. I won’t recap the game, because I think most of you saw it and if you are a Tigger fan then I would just be rubbing salt in your wounds and that isn’t very Christianly is it? :)

We watched the Broncos and Bears game last night, I was feeling sorry for the Bears and the way they were playing. And then the second half came, went into overtime and the Bears won with a field goal. We are still in the running and the Bears needed the win so it is all good. I tried to watch the Packers and Lions game Thanksgiving day and it just wasn’t exciting enough. I mean it was a good game I guess, but being a Hog and Broncs fan any other game just keeps you sitting back saying, Is that all you got? Win or lose those teams keep you on the edge, not talking just the edge of your seat, I am talking just on the edge period. The Pats are doing great. Who will be in the Superbowl this season? What are your predictions?

LSU That’s Some Good Football Watchin’

October 15, 2007

Well, it has been years since I have blogged on here so I thought that I would try again. Hogs lost of course to Auburn. But I must say that it picked up at the end and then Auburn came back in the last few seconds and we didn’t have a chance. It was slow moving through the game. Auburn held the lead 3-0 for the most part after a field goal in the first quarter. They held that ridiculous lead until 4th quarter with another field goal it was 6-0 with less then 2 minutes we got a touchdown, they brought it back and had another field goal attempt and won the game 9-7. Auburn’s defense was tough but if both teams would have played as well as they did at the end it would have been a better game.

Broncs had a bye this week and we come back playing the Steelers on Sunday night football on the 21st. We lost the game to the Chargers last week on the 7th, we actually got slaughtered. It was the first game we got to watch on tv for the season and we were so excited until the game started. Not many highlights in the game all except our field goal attempt that we got, but that was the only score. It was so bad in the 4th quarter CBS changed to a different game, they cut back in when San Diego made another touchdown, leaving the score 41-3. A downright massacre. I think that the offense has to get used to Cutlers arm, he throws rockets true and straight, they just have a hard time catching them. Our defense is one of the best but they weren’t playing that day. Hopefully next week we can get a win. We dropped down to 2nd place tie in our conference and we need this win.

On a lighter note, as we waited for the Arkansas game to come on we caught the last part of the LSU game. It was in it’s second over time when we changed over, it was a great game even coming in at that time. Triple overtime we couldn’t change over, and then finally a team we rooted for won. KU came out with the win! #17 KU beat #1 LSU 43-37. Last time Kentucky’s win over a number 1 team in the nation was in 1964. The Tiggers had the nations streak of winning 13 straight games and got beat by KU. Congratulations go out to the men in blue. GO WILDCATS!

LSU will probably get the next game against Auburn, but we will always have the memories of the triple overtime win of ol’ KU.

Now for my 2 cents:  Back to Arkansas. I hated seeing the shirts in the stands ‘Houston You Are The Problem’ and hearing the boos. Rather you agree with the shirts or not rather you agree with the boos or not, we should be there to support the team. It was embarrasing to have the announcers talk about how vicious we can be. They felt propelled to take up for Nutt, and I think that we need to realize that this is just a game and not an attack. To support and not turn on anyone at a drop of the dime. Nutt said in an interview, with a shaking voice, that his contract say’s 2012, not 2007 or 2008. He can’t concentrate on what people say in the stands or worrying about the t-shirts that he might see when he looks up. The problem with all of this is it carries on to high school football. These same rabid fans will expect the same from their kids, if they don’t have kids now when they do have them, in whatever sport they might be in or will be in. We lose the sportsmen ship and we replace it with to much pressure on them.

Oh, what have I become?

September 27, 2007

You heard it here first, Razorbacks are failing. Failing bad, I mean they stink, stinkin’ bad. The only thing that I can do, I will not be a fan, but I will offer a congrats to the lavender team. Check out their new uniforms, I think that lavender is the way to go. Lavender and proud of it! So here is something that you never thought you would see on this site, but here is my tribute to Roscoe, or Mikey as it were. Achoo Tiggers!

Real Men of Genius

September 23, 2007

I refuse to post on the Razorbacks, and will have them in time out until Casey Dick gets a little confidence. But I am reminded of watching the Tulsa game Friday with someone who will remain nameless, and I will use this time to send a shout out via video. The only retraction is you do not have to crack open a cold one, but you deserve the ‘Real Men of Genius’ Award.

Hogs letdown, Stuffed Tusky, & M. Shanahan is a genius!

September 19, 2007

Okay, so I am late with the updates on last weekends game. I guess I have been in mourning, a bit of celebration and some deep thought.

Okay, first with the mourning, Arkansas vs. Alabama. Horrible beginning exciting ending. I can deal with the loss because of the buildup to the end. It was like watching CSI, what will happen next? Oh the drama, the drama! If we had better coaching at the end of the game I don’t think we would have lost the ball and let the Tide bring the ball back for the win. They (Tide) inched the ball down the field, almost playing like some big-wig professional team. What surprised me was the fact we didn’t realize what plays were going to be played, and in turn set up the proper defensive play. Of course D. Mac was sidelined from what I heard was a slight concussion. D. Mac is the team, I don’t think that he should have been played as much as he was, Nutt should have at least waited until the 2nd quarter, or the second half to bring him in. I know that most wouldn’t agree with me, but oh well..get your own blog.

Nee-Nee and I watched the game at my sisters and brother-in-laws hotel room, we brought stuffed Tusky, Nee wouldn’t let me wear my Razorback p.j.’s, so we rubbed Tusky and shook him the best we could but it would not help that crazy Nutt. Of course this took us out of the top 25, with the votes we came up 26..whatever.

Now to NFL action. I have said it before Shanahan is a genius! Though I feel a tiny bit sorry for the Raiders, this was gold. Okay, we were in overtime. Raiders set up for the field goal attempt, they kick it…IT’S GOOD! Hold on, no Mike Shanahan being the evil genius that he is, had called a time out right before the kick. Shanahan held onto the ref’s arm right before the attempt, he even told the ref to wait, he is about to call the time out! Genius! The Raiders fans were celebrating and then the news came about the time out. They did another attempt and it hit the post and fell on the outside. We took it back made our attempt and won. Cutler is turning out to be a good quarterback, I always thought that he would be, you can reference my last years post on my other site to see. He had two interceptions which is only half of what Elway had. My deep thoughts are, you might think that is no way to win and feel good about it, but it is a war out there. We are 2-0, the leaders, and we have the strongest defense in the league. But with the way we won our last two games I worry about what is coming up. I believe we will get the Jags, but we play the Colts the next week and it will be at their home. I hate to say it but I think that will be our first loss of the season, maybe not..Shanahan is a genius after all.

Ready for some REAL Football?

September 11, 2007

I had been in a little funk so I am a little late in mentioning the Broncos win in their season opener, of course it was against the Bills so we will have to see, but what a win!

Broncos have the #1 defensive team in the NFL holding the Bills at 200 yds, while the Broncs had 470 yards of offense they should have had a bigger win, but they sure pulled it off in the end. In case you didn’t hear the only time the Broncos were ahead was at the end of the game at zero seconds. It was fourth and short score was 12-14, three seconds left on the clock the Broncos go for the field goal, Elam kicks 42 yards..IT’S GOOD! Winning the game 15-14. Shanahan said that in all of his years coaching he had never seen anything like that, this is about the first time that he has been excited about a season opener. The Bills suffered three injuries, Kevin Everett received a Cervical Spine Fracture Disclosure when he attempted a tackle, and two others suffered injuries that might sideline them for a while. We hope that they get better soon, of course you want your team to win but you don’t want anyone getting hurt during it. Especially Kevin’s injury where countless procedures will need to be done and a question of him being able to return to the game he loves.

Here is the schedule for the next four weeks: Raiders, Jaguars, Colts, Chargers. I believe that we will win the next two games but the Colts will be playing on their home turf I think that might be a little difficult, and we always have a hard time with the Chargers. The Broncs are a fun team to watch, it always scares me when they are ahead in the first half, because something always seems to happen in the second usually the fourth quarter. On the flipside of this if they are doing bad in the first half something usually happens in the second half usually in the fourth quarter. I think that Cutler is going to do well this season with only throwing one interception, compare that to Elway, it was good for Shanahan to do what he did at the end of last season. You can read more about the game here.

Oh yeah, be sure and catch the Hogs roll over the Tide this weekend. Sorry Donna.

The Real Roscoe

September 8, 2007

I told my sister that I would put a real picture of Roscoe the kitty kat of LoSerU up. So here is the real picture of him, I don’t know why she wanted this particular picture since he is showing his real dream of becoming a Razorback but oh well..

I think I can..I think I can..

This is For the Soldiers

September 7, 2007

I am a soldier surrounded by the deep, deep, deeeeep, gumbo slurping, kitty-kat lovin’, lavender wearing, Hog hatin’, south. Specifically fans of LoSerU. I mean they named their kitty kat Roscoe, I admit though this is a name close to my heart because I do love me some Dukes of Hazard. I must hit some nerves though because I even made some of them say some very unflattering comments, and some teetering on the lewd side. I am a soldier accepting, willingly I might add, attacks from all sides. Only one Razorback has come in for support and he left me after the attacks worsened, I have another one that is like coffee creamer, he is half and half. So I stand mostly alone proud with my head held high letting my words do the talking and the piggies back me up in their battle for the championship.

Yes, the rumors are true I do eat pig every once in awhile I am a true fan and I want to have a little of the Razorbacks with me wherever I go. My kitty kats that I post are not my own, they belong to the lavender team. I post them as my little homage to their mascot. After all he did not have a choice and he is not to blame. He is an innocent bystander in the whole situation.

So everyone will understand, I am not against the whole state of Louisiana, as far as the Saints go I like them, I rooted for them and I am sorry for their loss. They did good the first half but after that they just couldn’t keep up. The Colts are tough, their defense was strong and their overall game was well played. It was a tough opener to be pit against the Colts and I think that the Saints did as well as anyone could have. Hang in, I think that they will still have a good season.

Yes I have more then one team that I root for. The NFL is a big league and I like football and since the Broncs aren’t always televised I follow other teams. I like the Pats I have for awhile, I agree with how the Broncs did at the end of the season, Shanahan did good by realizing that he needed to play Cutler and get him use to playing during the season, I think that will show this season. I like his coaching, he played some second and third stringers during pre-season which aggravated a few people but it was good to let those guys play and it lowered the injury risk of the others. My other teams are: Saints, and Colts Okay so I was torn last night, but I wanted the Saints to win the opener. Teams I do not like: Cowboys and Steelers, they both are overrated.  I thought that I would put it in writing, so if you ever catch me talking about another team it will be clear and you can come back and check on me.

Go HOGS!  GO BRONCOS!  Ruuunnn Awaaay Tigers!

Razorbacks Have A Heart

September 2, 2007

Yes, Arkansas won. Yes, we, unlike some other team, had a heart and allowed them to score. We want some teams to leave feeling like they played a decent game. D-Mac ran 151 yards, a touchdown, and had a 42-yd touchdown pass to Crosby Tuck. McFabolous has had four touchdown passes since becoming a Razorback, and this was his longest completion yet. Dick did not do so well as QB as he struggled a little bit going 11 of 20 total of 108 yards.

Haugabook, 204 yards and a touchdown, had an apparent injury in the fourth quarter. Monk was on the sidelines still recovering from his injuries. Right now our strongest players are D-Mac and Jones, that is admittedly pretty scary to rely on two players strength. Not to undermine the other players, I know that they have their strengths also. But Monk is already down, what would happen if Jones or D-Mac go down? Scary stuff. Fun note: Felix Jones’ 90 yard kickof return was the first for a touchdown against Troy since Minnesota’s Laurence Maroney in 2003.

Trojans of Troy are of the Sun Belt Conference, one of three that we will face, the other two being N. Texas, and Florida International. Troy will face two more SEC division teams, Florida and Georgia. Another fun note for those saying that we were scored on by Troy, they did win the New Orleans Bowl last year. Comparing MSU to Troy is like comparing MSU to Troy, no comparision.
